Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of the previous year.

The win also means he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

His defensive play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

He defended four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a return after over two and a half hours.
